American Psychiatric Association National Award
The American Psychiatric Association selected the Clinic's First Steps Program to receive its 2006 Advancing
Minority Mental Health Award. This prestigious award is made annually to honor psychiatrists and mental health
programs that udnertake innovative efforts to raise awareness of mental illness in underserved communities and

The American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
selected the Clinic’s Building Blocks: A Preschool-Linked
Early Intervention Program as the recipient of its National
Rieger Service Program Award for Excellence in 2003. This
prestigious award recognizes innovative programs that address
prevention, diagnosis or treatment of mental illness in children

Family-Focused Service Innovation Award
The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health awarded
the Clinic’s Early Intervention and Community Wellness
Division its Family-Focused Service Innovation Award in
2002.

Outstanding Program of the Year Award
The Los Angeles County Mental Health Commission named the
Clinic’s Early Intervention and Community Wellness
Division as its Outstanding Program of the Year in 2002.

National Accreditation The Clinic has received a three-year Commission of Accreditation
of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) national accreditation. This
accreditation demonstrates our quality services, dedicated
staff and sound business practices.

Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Honors Clinic Board
Member David Hirsch
On January 27, 2004 Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite Burke honored
David Hirsch, 25-year Clinic board member and past Chairman
of its Capital Campaign, with a formal Proclamation celebrating
his outstanding leadership and volunteer service.
